The last of the India photos taken in Varanasi, the last stop on the trip.  From bathing to laundry, to yoga, to swimming lessons, the fire Puja, and of course the funeral pyres.  Everything goes on in the Ghats!

Out in the villages the kids were just fascinated by us.  They all wanted to know our names or shake our hands.  They seldom actually had anything to say, I think it was more out of curiosity than anything.

This kind of thing seems pretty normal once you’ve been in India a few days…

I can only describe Old Delhi as all guns blazing full on assault on the senses.  It’s a labyrinth of narrow streets and passageways alive with the constant flow of motorbikes, fully laden carts, and of course people. Lots and lots of people.  A tangled mess of cables runs little over head height, connecting the shops and trades crammed into the streets below.  Our guide lead us to a Sikh temple or Gurdwara.  The peaceful atmosphere and the perpetual soft rhythm of the tabla  was a most welcome respite from the busy streets outside.  These are some of the scenes I captured.

I was hoping to be uploading a few photos from my recent travels  to India by now.  Alas, as usual I’m taking my time to edit the pictures.  I managed to rack up a slightly excessive 760 captures in two weeks… eeep.

Anyhoo, here’s a few captures from last summer’s Braderie down here in Deal which I recently got round to scanning (I promise the India photos won’t take that long!).
